Weaving the ways of the plants through community workshops in herbalism and foraging, inner inquiry and wild education. Community gardener, food grower and educator.
Like many people the plants called my name and I’ve been following this call ever since. This is a well trodden path and yet the how we each walk this path is always unique as we follow our unique inspiration. Mine is centered around plants and people, community in the social human sense and the wild. I have found I need both human and the wild community of plants, trees, landscape and animals for me to thrive and live a satisfying existence. To live in a reciprocal relationship with the natural world, where my human existence is a welcome presence in nature. I experience this reciprocal relationship through gathering wild food, sitting around a kitchen table with folk processing what we gather, growing food, making fire, knowing the flow of the seasons; cleavers is often the first plant I meet in the year followed by primroses and dandelions. This experience of the world feels magical, exciting and animal.
I have been a student with The School of Intuitive Herbalism since 2015, and now having graduated, my curiosity has landed in the relationship between food and medicine, between presence, intention and the everyday needs of life. I have deeply experienced the catalyzing capacities of the plants, what happens when we give our presence and intention to whole heartedly ‘meeting’ a plant. In essence this is honoring the spirit of the plant, recognizing them as a consciousness being on this planet. And how does this relate to our food? I have had profound experiences with Dandelion to shift and move internal patterns and how does this work alongside just eating dandelions in a salad. What a deliciously curious wondering!
